Helicopter GPS Approaches
All helicopter GPS approaches are designed in accordance with
FAA TERPS helicopter criteria.
Approaches must pass an extensive FAA quality control check
including FAA commissioning test flights.
STI has a 100% FIRST TIME PASS RATE on FAA commissioning check
flights.
GPS Routes and Feeders
In order to fly direct to a location in IFR conditions an aircraft
must be under radar contact or be on an established airway with
a published minimum enroute altitude.
When climbing to an altitude that would allow radar coverage
but place the helicopter into icing conditions or in areas where
there are no established airways, STI creates FAA approved helicopter
GPS routes and feeders that connect approaches and create IFR
networks.
Weather Reporting
DigiWx is an affordable automated weather station ideally suited for
MedEvac/Air ambulance and Aerial Law Enforcement.
We provide local technician training, remote technical support via phone/e-mail,
automated fault notification and calibration standard for altimeter setting.
Mission-critical weather information is distributed via several options
including UNICOM frequencies, Medical Dispatch/FBO computer display,
World Wide Web and telephone dial-in. Real-time local weather data at
the heliport improves takeoff and landing safety.
The DigiWx System is now
eligible for FAA AIP (Airport Improvement Program) funds as well as various state grants.
